In “The Gaia Hypothesis” James Lovelock and Lynn Margulis examine their conclusions regarding earth as a living entity. They discuss how Venus and Mars were studied by Mariner 4 in 1965 and were followed by others including 2 Viking landings in 1976. Lovelock, a specialist in atmospheric sciences, noted that effectively the Martian atmosphere was in a state of dead equilibrium, however , Earth, being unique, was in a state which was described as being not in equilibrium. In other words, in comparison to other planets in the solar system, earth was alive. It was noted that the chemical composition of the terran atmosphere as against the Venusian or Mars atmosphere for example, suggested a combination of gases that was unique to Earth. Dr James Lovelock theorised that this may be as a result of the earth herself being a self-evolving and self-regulating living system, a living being in its own right. The theory explores the evolution of earth as a complex system whose constituents are the biological life and their material environment - the atmosphere, oceans, and surface rocks. Self-regulation of climate and chemical composition is seen as a consequence of this evolutionary process. It is postulated that the Earth is analogous to the human body. Geologist Dr James Maxlow, amongst many other scientists theorises that the earth’s continents have changed over the eons, as a direct result of the planet expanding from the inside out rather than tectonic plate movement. Maxlow has noted through many years of study, that “The earth is undergoing exponential expansion at the present rate of 21 millimetres per year, commencing from an Archaean primordial Earth size of approximately 1700 kilometres radius - Where the additional mass comes from is a valid question” [1]. When visiting Maxlow’s site, a time lapse chronologic pictorial of the earth exemplifies this theory. What does this all mean? In light of the evidence which supports the earth as a living and evolving planet, it would seem that the Earth, as Gaia, is more than a hypothesis. If this be the case, what are the ramifications of this? If relate to Gaia to the human there are many similarities. A huge component of the earth is its oceans – sea water. Like the earth, the human body consists primarily of water, our plasma constituents being almost identical to sea water. Trace elements and minerals found on the earth are also found in human tissue and blood, the earth’s atmosphere of nitrogen, oxygen and traces of carbon dioxide, methane and argon will also be found within the body. Homeostasis of the human body and the Earth rely on self regulating systems. Both bodies rely on feedback loops and mechanisms which are finitely tuned to ensure a homeostatic balance. Why this happens on planet earth is a mystery to scientists. Could this mean that Gaia is a part of a larger body which is itself self-regulating? Does what we do to the planet, we also do to ourselves and visa versa. And, if this is true, does what we do to the planet, affect a larger body as a result? Is the collective consciousness really the thoughts of the planet herself rather than those of the humans who live upon her? Is this why information may be transferred instantaneously across the planet to similar beings? John Reilly expands on the theory of the development of intelligent life of a celestial body, which palaeontologist Pierre Teilhard de Chardin phrased as the Noosphere. Reilly discusses within typical life cycle of the Noosphere, evolution of species is restricted to planet earth for example. “Evolution has a goal but can only be achieved locally, and as a result of feedback.” The Omega Point which Teilhard postulated, is that “human history accelerates as communications become easier and horizons broaden. … when there is a single world culture, then the process can proceed only by becoming more intense” [2]. One would question whether earth herself is influencing human evolution, and if so, to where are we evolving? Reilly goes on to state “…the transhumanists seem to be suggesting that mankind would soon accelerate to the maximum technological capacity allowed by physics and then coast forever after. A singularity in this sense would only exasperate the ‘where are they?’ [ET] problem. Unless there is something we don’t know about the difficulties of space travel, the laws of physics almost certainly allow for interstellar exploration, even if the fastest possible voyages between neighbouring stars are years long. If every noosphere has a history that culminates in an Adams-like point of flexion, then they should explode into space early in their development. Again, they should be here. We should be them. Something is wrong” [3]. What Reilly’s argument doesn’t explore is the potential that we humans are being manipulated and evolved into an accelerated version of ourselves and into a single world culture. In other words, we are the ‘them’ he speaks of! Researchers investigating the ‘Indigo’ and ‘star’ children postulate that either the human being is now genetically more advanced or has been genetically ‘modified’ to an advanced state through an insertion of genetic material either as a natural and sudden evolutionary phenomena or through artificial means (perhaps as a result of ET interference for example). No one can explain this in human evolutionary terms. The indigo and star children have many things in common, not the least being a sense of interconnectedness with all living things, and a concern with the earth and her environment. One has yet to consider, whether these genetic manipulations are coming from Gaia. Allow me elaborate. Many Crop Circle researchers have considered that the crop glyphs form as a result of the earth manufacturing these amazing artworks herself through the use of natural phenomena such as electromagnetic energy, plasma vortex’s or sound waves. The process of these formations being laid down is often complete within 20 seconds. Some researchers believe that due to this speed, the location of some of the major formations over aquifers and on major geodetic lines (or ley lines) which include major structural and chemical changes to the plant and soil reflects this hypothesis. Researchers such as Colin Andrews, the BLT research team (Burke, Levengood, Talbott) and Freddy Silva, have noted that crop circles consistently appear on or near “geodetic lines or their tributaries, influencing, charging, even reconnecting the energy of local ancient sites as if reactivating a network of “sleeping” power points” [4]. Are these sleeping power points awakened for the purpose of stimulating genetic evolution? Silva, in his book Secrets in the fields, goes on to say “In England, two principal ‘male’ and ‘female’ geodetic energy lines …named Michael and Mary… are in direct alignment with the path of the rising Sun on Beltane, or May 1st…and are were where the first rash of crop circles were discovered…” [5]. Again, is the planet utilising these aspects of her own body, to throw up messages? It is also documented that glyphs have formed as a result of a ‘thought’ that a person or group has ‘projected’. This has been exemplified many times. Steven Greer and his CSETI group, researchers Janet Ossebaard, Bert Jansen and their group, and Pilot and investigator Busty Taylor are amongst others who have meditated on or thought of a pattern, only to find it appear in a field as a glyph shortly after. When we view Gaia as a living entity, and recognise that we are a part of this same organism, it would stand to reason that whatever ‘thought’ we have, is also a part of the same consciousness of Gaia. We already know that sentient beings such as particular ET races, and cetaceans have the ability to telepathically link to humans. Is the crop formation a creation of a human thought, or is the human thought a creation of Gaia’s intention to lay down this formation, and the human simply ‘picks up on’ the intent of Gaia? Is this how Gaia communicates with us? Researchers believe that these formations may have an impact on human DNA. As highlighted in Silva’s book, it could be that “these crop glyphs are a symbol of the networked intelligence in the DNA that allows for hyper communication of information amongst all sentient beings (including plants), which means that the substratum of all life is a holographic unity” [6]. In fact, some glyphs actually have mapped the human DNA as was the case in the ‘Froxfield Serpent” or “Broken Serpent” formation of 1991. [7] “Gregg Braden in his book Awakening to Zero Point presents a detailed analysis of how the nine breaks of the 'Broken Serpent' refer to a circular map of the DNA that has been adopted in the science of genetics as a graphic model of our genes” [8] Is Gaia, utilising formations to trigger or stimulate genetic memory or codes in those people who view or enter them? Researchers have noted that these formations have amazing powers which have included spontaneous healings and states of altered consciousness for people entering them. Other theories have also been put forward. Are the formations the equivalent of pressure or acupuncture points on the planet herself? “The formations may possibly be the by-product of a self-healing process, or a psychopathologising of the anima mundi or world soul” [9]. Because these formations are not limited to only crops, this theory is more easily accepted. In addition to wheat, barley, corn, canola, and sunflowers, these formations have been noted in trees, rice paddies and on ice and in snow and more recently as a result of ‘fire swirls’ (Australia) in many countries around the planet. This may validate the hypothesis that the planet is herself forming these amazingly beautiful messages. There is another aspect of this phenomenon which is the appearance of balls of light, light mists, and light beams emanating from the sky which have all appeared at the time of some of the formations being created. Are they natural phenomena - an essential aspect of Gaia recorded throughout history as ‘earth spirits’, ‘faeries’, or ‘golden balls’ or are they extraterrestrial in nature and working with Gaia for a purpose as yet un-revealed to us – or has it? COnduit CLOSING, [13] Further, appearing in a field beside the Chilboton Radio Telescope in 2001 were these formations which are known as the “Chilboton Arecibo Message” (in an apparent response to the original Arecibo message sent out by SETI -Search for Extra Terrestrial Intelligence in 1974) and the ‘face’ which has been noted to be similar to the ‘face on Mars’ picture. Pictures by Steve Alexander [14] The response, answers the original message/code that was sent form the Arecibo telescope in Mexico, to inform of our existence and relay information regarding humans our double helix chromosome, our place in the solar system, our population, and a coded drawing of the Arecibo telescope – our mode of communication. The response contained information of a triple helix chromosome, with information of a population spread over three planets and their place in their solar system. The interesting aspect of this glyph was that a year prior to this formation, in the same field, a crop circle was laid which was identical to the coded mode of communication noted within this formation – which can be seen as the pattern of circles that appears beneath the being (beside the face as above). In other words, their ‘mode’ of communication is through the use of crop circles. From who or what is are these messages coming from and what does all of this mean, the Gaia Hypothesis, the expanding earth theory, the appearance of these earth glyphs, to those of us wishing to engage in diplomatic relations with Extraterrestrial races? There are a number of trains of thought we can take in relation to these questions. The first is that as a living entity, Gaia is interacting with humans on conscious and unconscious levels and we are connected as part of the same organism. If this is so, are extraterrestrials visiting earth to engage with humans or Gaia? Does this explain why many extraterrestrial cultures are not open about their presence here on earth. Perhaps it is not humans that the extraterrestrials have business with, rather Gaia as a living entity. This may explain ET’s presence over the millennia which seem at times to have had minimal interaction with humans. Secondly, are extraterrestrials working with Gaia to bring about evolutionary change through which humans can live harmoniously with Gaia and as result, the greater body or organism to which the extraterrestrials and Gaia belong? The purpose of this not unlike the analogy of the ‘normal flora’ of the human body which acts to assist the body, rather than to cause damage through infection through proliferation? This may explain why many extraterrestrial cultures, and the star and indigo children are concerned with the environment and earth issues and raising the consciousness of humans, lest we proliferate into an infection which requires ‘treatment’ by the larger body. This may explain the appearance of the crop formations and their resultant ‘warning’ or ‘awareness’ messages to humans that Gaia is in fact alive and aware. We are just not getting the message presently! Thirdly, are extraterrestrials and humans alike, using Gaia to their own means, in stark disregard for her wellbeing (through the mining of essential minerals and or resources by both ET and human cultures, and the over utilisation of fossil fuels and subsequent pollution of the biosphere by human cultures for example). Is Gaia, like the human body, forewarning all of us to cease these activities through her natural feedback mechanisms - which may include rising temperatures (not unlike the human body to kill off an infection) or the use of glyphs (not unlike a rash on a human body) as homeostasis mechanisms? In any exchanges between humans and extraterrestrial races, the Gaia Hypothesis must be considered as more than a proposition. The belief of Earth as a living entity must be a primary consideration throughout all diplomatic relations and interactions - be they ET/human or human/human and must form the primary foundation by which any interactions transpire. The adoption of this theory as fact would surely assist humanity in the short and long term. It could only serve to ensure the continuation of the human and diverse flora and fauna species of this planet, but the health and wellbeing of the planet and her resources and the greater body she belongs to. Embracing this theory in all intercultural and interplanetary interactions, would serve as a platform on which to develop and evolve into a non threatening member of the extended body, which is the Multiverses.
